Etiquette for Our Cotton-Candy Colored Dirigible

Welcome, dear Airship Cadet, to the Steampink community guidelines. Just as Victorian society operated on principles of civility and decorum, our cotton-candy colored salon maintains standards that ensure all members can create, learn, and flourish together.

Content Submission Standards

Pink Mechanics Tutorials

  • Include clear, step-by-step instructions with accompanying photographs
  • List all materials and tools required, with suggested alternatives where possible
  • Safety warnings must be prominently displayed for any hazardous processes
  • Credit all sources of inspiration or adapted techniques
  • Submissions should embody the steampunk aesthetic with at least one pink element

Cog & Culture Essays

  • Minimum 800 words, maximum 3,000 words
  • Connect steampunk concepts to contemporary issues thoughtfully
  • Include references and citations where appropriate
  • Maintain our whimsical yet analytical tone
  • Original perspectives encouraged; plagiarism strictly forbidden

Fleet Ballots Commentary

  • Political discourse through our brass-goggled lens only
  • No direct attacks on individuals; critique ideas and systems
  • Maintain civility even in disagreement
  • Speculative political scenarios welcome
  • Balance critique with imaginative solutions

Saloon of Scrolls Fiction

  • Stories between 1,000-10,000 words
  • Must incorporate steampunk elements
  • Pink aesthetics encouraged but not required
  • Content rating should not exceed PG-13
  • Include a brief author bio with submission

  • Off-topic content lacking steampunk or maker elements
  • Malicious code, dangerous instructions, or harmful misinformation

Editorial Review

Our editorial cog-turners review submissions within 2-3 weeks. You'll receive feedback regardless of acceptance.

Publication

Accepted submissions are polished and published with full attribution. You retain all rights to your work.
